Maple Leafs News & Notes
December 12th/2001
-- Leafs assistant to the president Bill Watters denied that the
club and free-agent-to-be Curtis Joseph have agreed to discuss a new
contract. A radio report said the Leafs and Don Meehan, Joseph’s
agent, planned to talk in the near future but Watters said that is
not the case. The parties haven’t met since Sept. 7 but have agreed
to meet at “appropriate times” throughout the season. All that means
is that each side considers its door open should the other want to
sit down, Watters said, adding there is no preset time for further
negotiations |
