Game Recaps
January 19.2002
It was the kind of night at the Air Canada
Centre that every visiting tough guy can only dream of.
Score the winning goal and beat up the
local enforcer - twice.
Donald Brashear
could barely hide his grin after Saturday’s 3-0 win by his
Philadelphia Flyers
over the
Toronto Maple Leafs,
the former Vancouver Canuck scored the first goal of the game on a
beautiful slapshot after having recorded a pair of one-sided
decisions over
Tie Domi.
“It was a fun game,” said Brashear. “A lot
of emotion out there. At the start of the game, a little tangle with
Tie. I knew that would be part of the game.
“It’s one of those games where I can be at
my best, do what I do best: playing physical, fighting,
intimidating.”
The red-hot Flyers, meanwhile, have won
eight straight games and are 14-2-0-0 since acquiring Brashear on
